Information you submit
We store your display name, country, city or region, perspective, time spent in the country, original language, review title and text, ratings and timestamps. Approved reviews are public. An email address is not required to submit a review.
Translations
When automatic translation is enabled, approved review titles and text are sent to DeepL through its API. We do not send your management code, IP address or administrator credentials for translation. Personal information you put in the text itself will be included, so avoid private details. Country editorial text may also be sent for translation. DeepL processes requests under the operator’s API plan and its applicable terms; processing may occur outside your country. The site stores the original and generated translations. Contact the operator with questions about the service configuration.
Cookies and security
An essential session cookie protects forms and administrator sign-ins. Analytics and its opt-out are explained below. The application does not include third-party fonts. Rate limiting uses keyed, one-way identifiers derived from IP addresses, not raw IP addresses in the application database. Hosting services may separately retain access and security logs.
Management codes
The private management code is shown once and stored only as a one-way hash. Anyone with the code and review ID can delete the review. No user account is required.
Retention and removal
Approved reviews remain until removed. Pending and rejected reviews are removed after 90 days through scheduled cleanup. Moderation records are retained for 365 days. Removing a review deletes its stored translations and queued translation jobs from the live database. Backups, hosting logs and any provider retention follow their separate retention policies and are not erased immediately by a site deletion. Hosting
The site is intended to be hosted by Web Hosting Canada. Infrastructure providers process data necessary to operate and protect the site. Contact the operator for the deployed hosting location and retention details.
Server statistics
The application no longer collects server page counters. Previously collected anonymous daily totals may remain in storage. Hosting access logs are separate.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is enabled by default. We load Google Analytics 4 to measure public page visits. Google receives browser/device and usage information, including your IP address in the connection. We send page addresses without query strings or fragments and do not send review text or private management codes. Admin, review forms, management, confirmation and individual review pages are excluded. Advertising features are disabled in our tag. Your cookie choice is stored in this browser for 180 days. Use Cookie settings to disable analytics; this stops future collection and removes accessible analytics cookies, but does not erase data already received by Google.
